I have been taking wedding photos in the Ottawa area professionally since 2011. I am having so much fun that it is hard to believe that it has been that long already! Since then, I have had the privilege to be a part of so many couples’ love stories. On top of that, I have been honoured to be recognized as one of Canada’s best wedding photographers by the Professional Wedding Photographers of Canada (an organization that unites qualified wedding photographers across Canada) as well as the recipient of the first place, platinum award for the most unique wedding photo for three years in a row! My signature double exposure photographs are so fun to create as an extra feature for every couple and have earned international recognition.
I have a passion for weddings of all sizes and I have been recognized as one of the go-to elopement photographers in the region. “It is hard to put into words how happy we are with our wedding album. We could not have been more thrilled to have worked with Joey.
We planned our wedding from a distance (we live in NYC but got married in Wakefield, QC at Le Belvedere). After interviewing 4 photographers on Zoom we chose Joey because of his calm demeanor, and stunning portfolio. We can bit a bit camera shy, so needed someone who would give us direction while remaining an unobtrusive presence. We knew he would have the calm energy we needed for our wedding day. We met in person when we flew to Ottawa a few months before our wedding. The person we met on Zoom translated into real life. Joey met us at a local coffee shop in Ottawa and was kind, calm and professional. He even bought our coffees! He brought samples of his wedding albums and went through our preferences.
The day of our wedding he was punctual and efficient. It felt like he was an old friend that had a hidden talent of photography. He captured every moment from our getting ready suites to our raging dance party. Every moment, angle and family photo was captured with care and professionalism. There wasn’t one shot that we wanted that he missed. Joey snapped the perfect moment of us jumping the broom, the surprise on our wedding guests’ faces when my husband’s dance with his mother cut into “Billie Jean’ by Micheal Jackson and when samba dancers trotted out to start our dance party. The angles and composition were exceptional. Our guests commented how committed he was to capturing each moment, even risking life and limb to get low on our dance floor to get the best pictures!
If you are wondering whether you should book Joey - please don’t. Just do it. We have worked with photographers from San Diego, to NYC, Trinidad, Jamaica, Toronto, and beyond. We have never been as satisfied with the final product as we were with Joey.”
