Amber & Michael's Ottawa Engagement Photos by Joey Rudd Photography

A few weeks ago I got to spend the evening with this fun couple. For their engagement photos we went to downtown Ottawa near Chateau Laurier and Major's Hill Park, followed by some photos by the locks at sunset. It was an incredibly beautiful evening and was accentuated by this beautiful couple (and Amber's incredible shoes!). On top of it being a lovely time, we also had a lot of fun. It is hard not to when lightsabers become part of the equation!

PWPC (Professional Wedding Photographers of Canada) Spring 2018 Contest

Last night I got home from a session to some exciting news. I was ranked 8th best photographer in Canada in the Spring contest of the PWPC (Professional Wedding Photographers of Canada). I was also the highest ranked photographer from Ottawa!

This was my first time submitting to this esteemed contest so I didn't really know what to expect as far as results were concerned. The judges use a points system based on how your photos rank in the contest to give you an overall ranking among other amazing photographers across Canada. There are so many incredibly talented and creative photographers in this contest and I am honoured to be recognized among them in this way!
It was fun to look through the photos that won and find 8 of my photos! We actually claimed 4 of the top 15 in the Bride and Groom Category and 3 of the top 15 in the Bridal Party (including 2nd Place!) as well as 3rd place in the Ceremony Category!

Preview of Amber & Michael's Engagement in Downtown Ottawa

Amber & Michael are getting married next year and I am looking forward to capturing their wedding for them! The other day we headed downtown for some engagement photos and, naturally, Michael's lightsabers came along as well to make this a truly unique session.
