Joyce & Matt’s wedding at the Brookstreet Hotel was truly a celebration. From beginning to end the energy was incredible. You can tell that these two love to have fun, fun with each other and fun with their friends. The Brookstreet’s beautiful grounds served as a perfect location for their party of a wedding.

Grace & Joel's Wedding at TwentyTwo at the Westin
Overlooking Ottawa’s downtown, Grace & Joel were married at Venue TwentyTwo. This was one of the first weddings of the year after a delayed start thanks to the pandemic. It was so wonderful to be able to celebrate with these two and their lovely families. Grace wore a traditional dress for their tea ceremony and switched for the ceremony. The Westin was the perfect venue for their wedding and offered great options for photos after the ceremony as well as at the end of the reception later in the night.
Keltie & Crispin's Backyard Elopement Wedding
When you think of an elopement wedding what do you imagine? Just the two of you and an officiant and a photographer? Sometimes that is the perfect elopement and there have been many that I have photographed where I have filled the role of one of the witnesses. While I absolutely love being a part of weddings as intimate as that, there is something special about one that is still intimate, but includes a handful of guest. Perhaps just a few best friends, maybe just some family or some combination of the above- either way there is something special about such an intimate celebration surrounded by those closest to the bride and groom.
Keltie and Crispin did both! In the morning they tied the knot with an officiant in a park with a couple of friends as witnesses, followed by the most beautiful, intimate wedding in her parents’ backyard. Surrounded by just a handful of their family they were married at sunset under a beautiful tree. On top of their spectacular style (see both of their incredible taste in outfits), was their adorable intimacy seen through their brief touches and genuine smiles and laughter. Such wonderful people to work with and such a fun elopement wedding to photograph. See for yourself the fun that we had.
Aksana & Mark's Wedding at Evermore
Evermore Weddings & Events is a gorgeous wedding venue any day, but when accented by the beautiful couple that Aksana & Mark are and the lovely autumn colours it is made even more so. Aksana and Mark both got ready at the, always nice to photograph, Almonte Riverside Inn. The dark, elegantly accented walls there contrasts so perfectly with the lovely natural light coming through the Inn’s grand windows.
Their ceremony was held out on the grounds at Evermore, surrounded by an array of purple flowers, a soybean field and many friends and family. Mark’s smile at the sight of his bride was priceless and took the chill right out of the autumn air.
The reception in the grand hall of Evermore is always spectacular site and the team at Evermore did a fantastic job coordinating all of the details for Aksana & Mark’s wedding day. I had the immense pleasure of documenting this day for the bride and groom and had a great time with the talented Ryan Seyeau from Rubicon Photography who joined me for the day. Here is a glimpse at their day.

Sarah & Zephir's Farm Wedding
I was so excited for Sarah & Zephir’s wedding leading up to their big day and the day itself did not disappoint! It was so much fun capturing memories for this amazing and beautiful couple! Ophelia (their 1937 Buick) was a huge part of their day, as well as so many friends and family from around the world! There were so many tender moments and I had to fight back tears several times, like as Sarah’s father talked about dancing with her as a small child and looking forward then to dancing with her on this day. I couldn’t help but think, ‘that’s me now with my tiny daughters!’ or when Sarah surprised her new husband with the most beautiful song I have ever heard at a wedding. You can check out more of Sarah’s beautiful music here.
I love all of the photos from this wedding so much and had a tremendously hard time selecting which ones to include (or not include) on this blog. It’s going to be a long one folks!
The Saziemaz Farm was transformed into an amazing venue with so much help from friends and family. I was excited to see the same person who performed my wife and my ceremony over seven years ago marry this couple as well. Chris from Peaking Zebra was there to work his magic with video and Flowers By Maggie did an incredible job with the bouquets and other flowers. I could go on with how much fun this wedding was, I haven’t even mention the ice cream, the cheese bar, or amazing food yet, but I will just skip to sharing some photos from their wedding with you.

The photo above was a double exposure that I created in camera by keeping one photo from Sarah & Zephir’s engagement session still on my camera card for several months and then taking a second photo on top of it on their wedding day in order to create this unique double exposure that warps time.
I love to create unique and fun photograph experiences for my couples. I love that my couples allow me to be creative on their wedding day (or in this case, on two different days spanning several months).

Paola & Ricardo's Intimate Elopement Wedding in Ottawa
Paola & Ricardo were married on a windy day in April. Freezing rain and snow were in the forecast, but nothing would stop these two from getting married outside in among the trees at the Arboretum. Ricardo's mother and sister even came all the way from Mexico for the special event! Keith from Exceptional Ceremonies performed the official ceremony and then the three of us hiked through the park for some photos of the two of them. It was wonderful to celebrate with these two in such an intimate way!

Andrea & Jeff's Montebello Wedding
Andrea & Jeff's wedding was at Fairmont Le Château Montebello last month and it was a spectacular day from start to finish. When I first met with Andrea over a year ago I knew that they would be the kind of couple that I love to photograph. "Do any tricks you can." she said, much to my excitement. So from double exposures, to prisming,"rings of fire", sparklers, and even a lightsaber, it was a fun day full of celebrating and creativity.
Nicole from Piper Avenue did an amazing job at keeping the day on track as well as coordinating the ins and outs of the day leading up to the wedding. It was fun to finally work with this fantastic, and alternative wedding planner.
Richardson Hair Design and 2bu Esthetics & Makeup Artistry put together the girls in the morning at Montebello and Pretty Posy Floral Design delivered incredible flowers and floral displays like always!
Their ceremony was in the gazebo overlooking the water and their reception was at the Golf Club. The lightsaber I built for light painting I put together the night before in Home Depot and I was excited to try something for the first time at this couple's wedding. Jeff's Corvette was a big part of their day as well and so it only made sense to do some light painting with it at the end of the night. The oohs and ahhs of guests watching the back of my camera as I danced around behind the car like a madman spurred me on and we had a great time experimenting and creating late into the night. Plus, who doesn't have fun with a lightsaber!
The day before, Andrea & Jeff had a quiet, more private ceremony held at an old church near their parents' home, it also happened to be the same place Andrea's parents were married 43 years previously- almost to the day! We went hiking in a field nearby and got some beautiful photos of the two of them there as well as at a neighbour's home.
It was an incredible weekend and I am so excited to share the photos from their day(s).

Ariane & Moataz' Winter Wedding at Strathmere by Joey Rudd Photography
With everything that is going on right now in the world, take some time to check out something beautiful instead!
Ariane & Moataz had their wedding on a beautiful winter day at Strathmere last month. I was so honoured to document their day for them and was grateful to have had such wonderful talent join me for the day. (Ryan from Rubicon Photography!)
When I met Ariane & Moataz a few months ago I know that we would be a good match and their fun engagement session up at Mackenzie King Estate only confirmed that more! Their friendly, creative, and fun-loving personalities made them such a joy to work with. I appreciated the fact that they not only trusted me to accurately document their wedding in a way that told the story of their day, but also gave me (encouraged me) to go “all-out” creatively.
Ariane & Moataz’s families were such a joy to work with as well. You can see how much they love an support their newly married children and I swear that Moataz’s mother Muna has one of the most beautiful smiles that I have ever photographed!
Erica from Weddings by Erica Lynn helped coordinate their day and between her and the staff at Strathmere, Ariane & Moataz’s day was perfect, timely, and fun! Lynne for Exceptional Ceremonies was fantastic as always! The food was delicious and Driftwood Music kept the party lively and exciting!
What a great team, what a great time! It is always fun to work with such great professionals, but most importantly to work with such wonderful, creative, and fun couples who trust me!
Enjoy this break from Covid-19 news!

Lindsay & Amaan's Wedding at Lago in Ottawa
When I first met with Lindsay & Amaan to discuss their wedding as they were considering me for the photographer of their wedding I could tell that they were an awesome couple. At their engagement session I caught a glimpse of how cute they are together, but it was at their wedding that it was my privilege to witness and see how perfect they are for each other. Fun, down-to-earth, funny, and just all around awesome people to work with!
Their wedding was at Lago Bar and Grill at Dows Lake in Ottawa. There, surrounded by so many people who love them, they tied the knot and partied into the night. It was fun to have Ryan from Rubicon Photography join me for the day. He is incredibly talented and has an eye for interesting angles that I love.
Here is a glimpse at Lindsay & Amaan’s beautiful wedding!

Zahra & Zubair's Le Belvedere Wedding
It has been a busy month for Zahra & Zubair, filled with moving from Toronto to Montreal, The Raptors winning the NBA finals, final exams in Toronto, and their beautiful wedding at Le Belvédère in Wakefield! (Did I mention that Zahra’s exam in Toronto was the very next day!?). Throughout it all, this couple carried themselves with passion and fortitude and had an absolutely stunning wedding at Le Belvédère. In similar fashion, their day was a transforming and varying day with regards to weather; from bright sun to rain and even a tornado warning!
Their day started at Le Bellevue where they both prepared for the day together with some of their closest friends and family. Their ceremony overlooked the valley from the fantastic view that Le Belvédère boasts and their reception was a true party full of games, great food, heartwarming speeches, and a Raptors game!
I was joined by Mathieu Louis-Seize of Green Tea Photography for the day and it was a blast to be able to shoot along side such a talented photographer and great guy! It was hard to narrow down which photos would make the cut for this blog post as their were so many amazing photos from Zahra & Zubair’s day. Even still, it’s a big one! Enjoy this glimpse at this spectacular wedding!
